Tweed Ecology Ltd is owned by Reuben Singleton and is based in Peebles, in the Scottish Borders, near Edinburgh. Tweed Ecology holds full Professional Indemnity, Public Liability and Employer’s Liability insurance.

Reuben is a Chartered Environmentalist, a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), and holds Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Environment Manager and Network Rail Sentinel cards.

Reuben has over 25 years ecological and environmental experience, initially working for Scottish Natural Heritage for 14 years, and then a further 6 years as Principal Ecologist and Technical Director for major international private consultancies. In 2011, Reuben founded Tweed Ecology Ltd.

Tweed Ecology operates mainly across Southern Scotland and Northern England, although further afield will always be considered. Unlike most consultancies, Reuben does not sub-contract work, preferring to undertake all work himself. This benefits clients in that they can be reassured that they are getting the wide range of experience and high quality service promised in the original quote, and that work will be delivered on budget and on time. Overheads are also kept to a minimum meaning that fee rates reflect only the expertise purchased rather than management or facilities fees. This approach also benefits Reuben as he is able to retain direct control over the quality of work, thereby minimising management and administration time, allowing him to spend more time delivering ecological advice.

Working locally means that travel and accommodation costs are minimised and it allows small windows of decent weather can be taken advantage of which is critical in our unpredictable climate.

Central in delivering any successful project is the relationship between client and service provider. With Tweed Ecology you will deal with Reuben from start to finish. At all times clients can be confident that they can contact Reuben who will be familiar with their project and able to give the instant advice that you and your project deserve.
